Dovydas Maščinskas (born September 5, 1992), widely known by his mononym Døvydas or formerly as David Smash, is a Lithuanian-born American singer-songwriter, composer, content creator, and exceptional multi-instrumentalist. Renowned for his phenomenal skill on the electric guitar, cigar box guitar, drums, bass, harmonica, and piano, Dovydas has captured millions of fans worldwide with his vibrant street performances and masterclass live-looping execution.
Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, Dovydas began playing guitar at age 13 before pursuing classical and conservatory music training at the Naujalis Music Gymnasium and Kaunas Juozas Gruodis Music Conservatory. After performing on major Lithuanian television programs including Lithuania's Got Talent, he was discovered online by American blues artist Steve Arvey, leading to his relocation to the United States in 2012.
Settling initially in Florida—most famously performing at St. Armands Circle in Sarasota—Dovydas expanded his digital footprint to build a massive YouTube community featuring over 2 million subscribers. His signature one-man-band setups utilizing loop stations, dynamic genre requests, and virtuosic covers have cemented his status as a modern guitar icon on the streets and online.
